Political discussionWe need to collectively as a society determine the significance and importance of the issues that most concern the majority of the population.
To raise one issue as an important subject is to accept that issue as paramount. Who decides the rating of significant or important? Should we allow the media or the government or the lobbyists to dictate the order of importance or the need to address certain issues over others? Shouldn't the people have a say?

Well it seems that people just don't really care who chooses the important issues that require addressing. The media or the politicians can ignore the recession we are in and the people hurt by it do not even appear to notice. The major news outlets are biased and spin away and people buy it. It's really beyond me how things have gotten this bad. The constitution appears to be "just a god damned piece of paper" (George Bush) after all.

Will any state stand up to the federal government and do what's right for the people?

After speaking to the department of business regulations in my state they informed me that what the mortgage companies are doing with option ARM's may not be ethical but it is legal. This is only one important issue of the times and we the people are powerless to correct it.
